GOING ON FOUR YEARS

I had another MRI; this makes four since I was DX with breast cancer almost four years ago. The results made me excited for there were no cancer findings. If you have been following me since the beginning then you will know how important this procedure is.

The program that I am following has made me a better person physically as well as spiritually for I have grown in knowledge and wisdom. Dr Perez has given me the well to go on and continue his work to share with all of you.

For over four years I have made my life public to show that there are other ways to fight and manage cancer without surgery, chemo and radiation. It’s all about the quality of life one wants. We all have choices and some of us do not know what is out there. Knowledge is power and I have given all my research to you through the blogs and web pages.

Dan and I have come a long way in the four years, moving to Mexico and managing our cancer. Both of us are clean of this disease and will continue to stay on our home program and follow Dr Perez’s guidelines.

PART ONE

Hello everyone, It's the weekend finely!!!! Have a safe Sabado. Dan and I were invited to go to the zoo in Guadalajara. So off we went..  I would Like to thank Mike and Elaina for a wonderful day .
This zoo is compared to be the same as San Diego Zoo.  Much to see, it would take you at least two or more days to go through the whole place.  As we entered through to redeem our tickets there were several options and prices…

Zoológico Guadalajara is the main zoological park in the Mexican city of Guadalajara, Jalisco, and is widely considered the most important in Latin America. It is the largest in the country with respect to species population.

It started operating in 1988, as a project to promote conservation and research; being the first true zoo of the city, and the largest in the state of Jalisco, the park has been enormously successful and is one of Guadalajara's most popular tourist attractions.

The zoo is noted for its diversity of species, especially birds, although there are many species of mammals as well, including some endangered species from Mexico and the entire world.
Among them there are Bengal tigers, jaguars, lions (including rare white lions), leopards (including black panthers), orangutans, gorillas, chimpanzees, African elephants, white rhinoceroses, three species of crocodiles (Nile crocodile, Morelet's crocodile and American crocodile), Aldabra giant tortoises, giraffes, American bison, American black bears, Red Kangaroos, Komodo dragons, Reticulated pythons, Green anacondas, Monocled cobras (including albine specimens), Golden eagles, ostriches, cassowaries, and more.

The aquarium at the zoo recently opened a new jellyfish display and jellyfish culture lab, the first in this part of the world.

Some of those species are important for conservation; for example, the zoo has bred the rare Mexican wolf, as well as the endangered Morelet crocodile.

THE MEXICAN NATIONAL CHILI COOK OFF

Last weekend Dan and I went to the chili cook off here in the Chapala area, just down the road from where we live. The cook off has been going strong every year for the past 36 years. This took place at our Tobolandia water park.

I was amazed with the number of venders that offered assorted goods and services. The talent goes for miles with the beauty of items surrounding us. Headlining the event were the Voladores de Papantla, coming from Veracruz to appear all three days for multiple performances of a daring native ritual that originated in ancient Mesoamerica. The costumed fly boys do a dance around a towering wooden pole before climbing up to its top; tying long ropes around their ankles and launching themselves head first towards the ground.

 

Dan and I were honored to be introduced to them, for they were staying at Hotel Perico during the three day event. I took a movie of one of the performance that we stayed to see. On the very top there was one that was playing an instrument before the others began to do the ritual.

We went on Sunday which was the salsa contest. It set Dan back 30 poses to test the different flavors and he even voted on the one he liked. There was plenty of entertainment the whole weekend there; unfortunately we were unable to be there all three days.
