ITS RAINY SEASON!!!

It’s the start of rainy season here in Ajijic. In the morning it is cloudy and wet. Most of the days are dry and the sun tries to stick its head out. Last Tuesday Dan and I went to the organic market. This day was very gloomy for the sun was asleep. I have captured it through pictures. We walk this path until we reach the town for a bite to eat at Lauri’s Café and then we head down to our local Wal-Mart to take a cab up the hill to where we live.

Here in Mexico art surrounds us, the talent is amazing and uniquely placed for one to purchase. Art is life and we create it all the time. May it be designing a dish of food together, planting a garden, putting an outfit together or drawing a unique piece. It’s your own masterpiece. I have been looking for cheap large rugs that are colorful, so I went to my local Wal-Mart and got small bright rugs and sewed them together. I’ve been creating dishes and this week my garden is starting to shape up. LIFE IS GOOD HERE IN MEXICO... Now all that needs to be done is the sun to shine.

SPRING IS IN THE AIR ~ MAY

It’s May again and spring is in the air. Its time to plant an organic garden, may it be large or small. I find it to be very healing in more ways then one. In a small area in front of my place I have planted tomatoes, acorn squash and peppers. The seeds I have came from the vegetables that I get from the Tuesday organic market. In the house I started growing celery from another celery stalk and pea’s as well as peppers. These are perfect for the spring and summer season’s. Here in Mexico the weather is changing and it will soon be the rainy season. It is very strange because it only rains at night, go figure. This is a change for in Florida it rained day and night.

I have to tell you this little story of never giving up. I have this plant that was planted in front of my place that seemed ruined by the large ants here in Mexico. Well the owner of the complex was going to uproot it and throw it away. You know me, I told him all it needs is water and give it a chance. Look its sprouting leaves and looks like its going to be full again. It’s almost like my life these past several years with cancer. So never give up hope, anything is possible.
