RANCHO LA SALUD ORGANIC FARM AND VILLAGE
With a partnership of another person, they have decided to make blackberry jam and jelly. I had the privilege to try some and fell in love with the taste and the fact that there were huge whole blackberries throughout it. The other day I made Dan and I French toast topped with the jam. Yum, it was fabulous.
As our visit continued, Dan and I learned more about the farm and village. We also learned the dream of the owner and how this community will be set up. It was something that I have never heard of before. It will be a community of sustainability. The village will provide a lifestyle that improves and enhances the lives. They are creating an extended family where they will care about each other. The residents will share the common goals of cooperation, self-sufficiency, health, education, and living lightly on the land.
Purpose, Mission and Values Vision: Creating a village for people who want to enjoy life to the fullest. While practicing good health, and engaging in learning, they are also valuing their neighbors as they age.
Mission: Creating an international village where they are connected to their neighbors and are using renewable resources to the fullest extent while enjoying life, and having an adventure while taking care of themselves. They are living together in harmony, being healthy, exercising and constantly learning from themselves and others.
Values: Each person acknowledges that to be part of this community is both a privilege and a responsibility. It is a privilege to choose to come together with others to live and thrive for a common vision. Each of them makes available our experience, strengths, and interests for ongoing personal and community development. Each of them aspires to act from these common values and principles:
Community: The village is committed to building community, sharing resources, and sharing a sense of neighborhood. They intend to create a community where they can thrive and belong for a lifetime. They strive for mutual respect among themselves that honors differing viewpoints and beliefs. They believe in the goodness of others. They want to share time and resources with there neighbors in order to meet each other’s needs. They work for the common good of the community.
Diversity: They are committed to creating diversity in age, race, ethnicity, income level, sexual orientation, physical ability, and interests. They respect and support the uniqueness and growth of each member and themselves as a group.
Individuals: They want to live life to the fullest, to be kind and considerate and to be open and authentic in their relationships; to be truthful and honest.
Stewardship: To conserve and protect the natural environment, to live lightly on the land. They strive to live their lives without compromising the integrity of future generations to meet their needs.
Participation: They are a community in which all residents share the tasks and pleasures of creating and maintaining the physical and social aspects of their common lives.
Education: They desire to educate themselves and to help each other grow in life-long learning.
Health: To practice health and well-being in choosing a life-style of healthy eating, exercise, people connection, and mental activity.
Helping Others: They want to help others in need and to give back both within and outside the community.
Setting an example: They want to set an example for others to follow. To make known our way of life and to show how others may live this way; to leave a legacy. If you are interested in this way of life living in harmony, check out this website www.rancholasaludvillage.com or e-mail rancholasaludvillage@gmail.com.
